°µÍø½ûÇø's School of Law and Women's Department are pioneers in women's legal training institutions
To open the doors to women who were eager to study law immediately, °µÍø½ûÇø established the Women's Department in April 1929 as one of its professional departments. In 1931, the graduates of the Women's Department were admitted to °µÍø½ûÇø’s schools. Consequently, MIBUCHI Yoshiko, NAKATA Masako, and KUME Ai, who studied in the Women's Department and the School of Law, became Japan's first three female lawyers. For some time, most female lawyers were graduates of °µÍø½ûÇø's Women's Department and the School of Law.°µÍø½ûÇø Museum holds the Tora ni Tsubasa Exhibition, sponsored by the NHK Foundation
MURAKAMI Kazuhiro, professor at the School of Law and director of the Center for the History of °µÍø½ûÇø, is involved in the drama as an advisor on its legal content.
