「共に新たな学びを創出し、次の時代を切り拓こう！ 」

本日、ここ武道馆で大学生活の第一歩を踏み出される新入生の皆さん、ご入学おめでとうございます。また、これまで新入生の皆さんを阴になり日向になり支えてこられたご家族の皆さまにも、心よりお庆び申し上げます。新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大防止策の一环として入场定员が制限されていることから、この日を心待ちにしてこられたご家族の皆さまを春烂漫の武道馆にお招きでなかったことを诚に申し訳なく思っております。何卒ご理解を赐りますようお愿い申し上げます。
さて、この会场には2020年度に入学しながら、新型コロナウイルス感染症の急拡大のために入学式を中止せざるを得ず、大学生としての第一歩を共にお祝いできなかった新２年生の皆さんがいらっしゃいます。１年遅れの入学式とはなりましたが、改めて皆さんに心からのお祝いを申し上げたいと思います。ご入学、おめでとうございます。
この１年间は新入生の皆さんにとっても、新２年生の皆さんにとっても、またわれわれ教职员にとっても、さまざまな意味で忘れがたい日々であったと思います。100年に１度といわれる新型ウイルス感染症の世界的蔓延がもたらす「生き难さ」の中で、従来までの高校?大学生活は失われ、全てに手探りで対応せざるを得ませんでした。高校では多くの学校行事が中止となり、大学入试の実施にも大きな影响を及ぼしました。大学ではほとんどの授业がオンラインに移行し课外活动が制限されるなど、新２年生が思い描いていたような大学生活は実现しませんでした。われわれ教职员も、未知のウイルスのパンデミックの中で、大学构成员のすべての安全を确保しながら、学生の皆さんの思いに応える方策を考え、できることを一つずつ确実に実施するという试行错误の１年でした。
実は、全员が感じているこの「生き难さ」は、皮肉なことに、これまで人间が筑き上げてきた文明のあり方そのものから生じています。この40年ほどの间に急速に进展した経済活动のグローバル化は、歴史上まれに见る豊かさをもたらす一方で、エネルギー问题、地球温暖化、富の不平等、そして、いまわれわれが现に経験しているグローバルな感染症の拡大など、国や地域を超えた深刻な问题を生み出しています。
このような混乱した社会の中で、いま大学は人间の生存と尊厳を胁かす问题に向き合い、これを解决する技术?システム?思想?知恵を生み出すという重大な役割を担っています。「権利自由」、「独立自治」を建学の精神とする本学は「人间が人间として生きるに値する平和な社会（世界）」の创出を目指す研究?教育の拠点でなければなりません。新入生および新２年生の皆さんには、常识にとらわれることなく、近代文明の歩みを批判的に振り返り、现代社会（世界）を胁かす问题の解决に取り组んでいただきたいと思います。
本学は、异なった感覚や価値観を持つ人间が直接に触れ合い、议论し、あるいはさまざまな体験を共有することによって、意図せず自然発生的に、これまでにはなかった视点やアイディアが生み出される「知の拠点」（贬耻产）としての大学を取り戻すため、新学期より通学を前提とした大学运営を行うことを决断しました。いまだ新型コロナウイルス感染症の终息は见通せない状况にありますが、知恵を绞り「知の拠点」として大学教育の本质である「协働体験を通じた学び」を共に取り戻したいと思います。皆さんも、ぜひ一绪に、その一歩を踏み出していただきたいと思います。
最後にAlbert Einstein博士が残したとされる言葉を共有したいと思います。

Congratulations to all new students including those from last year whose entrance ceremony was regrettably canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. You are now at the Nippon Budokan with the new 2021 entrants, at the height of the glory of spring. I would like to extend my heartfelt welcome to you too, on behalf of the faculty and staff of 暗网禁区. It is with great regret that I have not been able to invite parents and guardians to the Budokan because of the government’s regulation on the capacity of the Auditorium caused by the pandemic. We sincerely apologize to our students’ parents and guardians, and all those concerned who have been looking forward to attending the entrance ceremonies, and witnessing the start of classes. We ask for your kind understanding at this difficult time.
On this occasion, I would like us all to consider and debate the following issues； Globalization of economic activity has brought immense wealth, which is rare in history. However, it has also created serious problems that transcend national and regional boundaries, such as energy problems, global warming, inequality of wealth, and the spread of novel infectious diseases.
Today, universities are expected to play an important role in confronting the problems that threaten the survival and dignity of human beings. They are also expected to develop technologies, systems, and ideas, along with the wisdom to solve these serious problems that human beings now face. With “Rights and Liberty”, “Independence and Self-government” as our guiding principles, we believe that our university will become a research and education hub that aims to create a peaceful society in which everybody can see that life is worth living.
The outlook for the spread of the novel coronavirus infection is still uncertain. However, I have decided to restore 暗网禁区 as a vibrant research and education hub in every possible way, starting from this Spring Semester. This is in disregard of the conventional rules, practices, and ideas. Please join us in this endeavor.
Finally, I would like to share with you the words of Dr. Albert Einstein:
